Frequent Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • What is the method used for cleaning?

Helpro uses hot water extraction, also known as “steam cleaning”, a procedure most carpet manufacturers recommend, as it is the safest and deepest cleaning method possible. A special cleaning solution, in combination with hot water, is injected into the carpet. This agiates the fibers, releasing ground-in dirt and, finally, extracting the soils and fluids. A powerful suction machine then extracts the dirt, water, and the cleaning solution. It also removes 96% of the moisture! This process allows us to remove even stubborn dirt gently.

  • How long will it take for my carpet to be cleaned?

It depends on the size of the area that needs to be cleaned and the overall condition of the carpet. However, on average, a house with four areas will take about 30 to 45 minutes.

  • How long will it take for my carpet to dry?

Drying time varies according to variable factors, such as airflow, humidity and the temperature of the area. The addition of air movers, fans, and air conditioning or heating can help accelerate the process. The carpet can be stepped on immediately after the extraction process is finished, but it will take between two to eight hours for it to dry completely. Walking on the carpet right away will not affect the drying time. Please avoid using any street shoes on recently cleaned carpet.

  • Do you move furniture?

Helpro will move light furniture that is safe to be moved. We do suggest that anything on top of the furnishings, such as books, pictures, or electronics be moved before our technicians arrive. We don’t charge extra for moving furniture, and we will move it back to its original place once we have finished cleaning. There are some heavy items that Helpro won’t moved such as beds, dressers, china cabinets, etc…

  • How do you guarantee customer satisfaction?

We are not happy until you are. We will gladly correct any situation that is not up to your standards.

  • Do you guarantee the removal of all spots and stains?

We do our best to remove all spots and stains but, unfortunately, some spots and stains are permanent. Our technicians will do their best to determine which spots and stains are permanent before the cleaning process begins, but there is no guarantee. You will only be charged for the stains that are removed.

  • How do I maintain my carpet after it's been cleaned?

The best way to maintain the quality of your freshly cleaned carpet is by vacuuming it frequently and not stepping on it with street shoes.

  • How often should I have my carpet professionally cleaned?

It depends on how heavy the foot traffic is on the area in question, but we recommend a professional carpet cleaning at least twice a year. The hot water extraction eliminates dirt and residue while enhancing a clean smell.

  • Why is it important to have my carpet professionally cleaned?

A professional carpet cleaning is good for your health! It improves the air quality in your home by removing dirt, residue, allergens, and pet dander. These things get kicked up into the air as you walk, and you end up breathing them. A regular professional carpet cleaning keeps those contaminants to a minimum. It also keeps your carpeted areas looking clean and gorgeous. The effects are positive all the way around!

  • Does having my carpet professionally cleaned help remove bad odors?

Over regular cases the smell with change and it will feel fresh and clean. On top of that, your Helpro technician will apply a complementary deodorizer to the carpet to allow our customers to experience the fresher side of clean. • What’s the process used for upholstery and mattresses cleaning?

We pre-inspect your upholstery carefully before beginning any cleaning procedure. The process begins by thoroughly vacuuming the surface to remove all the dry dirt before any wet cleaner is applied. If the furniture has heavily soiled areas, especially oily spots, we pre-spray those areas with the appropriate chemical cleaning agent. Then, we lightly brush those areas with a soft furniture cleaning brush to assure proper penetration and soil emulsification, pulling the dirt from the upholstery and into the cleaning agent, where it can be removed easily. We brush the areas thoroughly, paying particular attention to places where moisture could be trapped, such as button indentations and around cording. With a high-powered extractor, we remove as moisture as possible from these areas. After that, the drying process begins, which may involve the usage of air movers. The same process is used to clean mattresses, removing stains and restoring a fresh, pleasant smell.

  • What’s the process used for carpet cleaning?

For tile and grout cleaning we follow this procedure:

    1. Floor Identification:
A process which can be done by visual inspection, chemical testing, or a scratch test. This step is particularly important when doing restorative cleaning, since each flooring type may call for different chemicals, brushes, and equipment.
    2. Pre-Inspection:
This step determines any pre-existing physical damage, types of soils and stains, type of tile, original color of grout, presence of wax or sealer, efflorescence (a white deposit consisting of gypsum, salt or calcite), and the floor’s potential for color sealing.
    3. Cleaning procedure:
3a. Helpro technicians remove the furniture (light and safe to be moved) from the area to be cleaned, then remove dry surface soil by sweeping or vacuuming.
3b. Once the flooring is identified, our technicians apply the appropriate type of cleaning chemical.
3c. On tile surfaces, they spray the cleansing chemicals evenly over tile and grout lines, allowing it to pool in the lines.
3d. The chemicals must remain on the surface of the flooring for a period known as “dwell time.” This gives the chemicals enough time to remove the dirt and grime driven into the surface. The dirtier the floor, the longer dwell time the chemicals may not. Grout lines may need to be agitated with a grout brush.
3e. Chemicals are agitated into the floor to facilitate cleaning using a rotating floor machine connected to an extractor. The equipment lays down a high-pressure spray to agitate and rinse the floor while simultaneously vacuuming the cleaning solution, taking it away from the surface. Drying may be accelerated with the use of air movers. Helpro also offers floor sealing, using either water or solvent based sealants.
